Question

Attachment theory suggests that early parental bonds create patterns of attachment that tend to repeat themselves in later relationships, especially romantic relationships. Those who have secure attachments to parents tend to have more secure romantic relationships, and those with insecure attachment to parents have less secure romantic relationships. Do you notice any patterns in your own adult relationships, and can you see a pattern similar to early attachment relationships with your parent(s)?

Explanation / Answer

According to the attachment model, I received the secure attachment from my parents. In my childhood I could connect with my parents easily and I believed them very more. I got much affection from their side and made me independent to take my decision for my own. After I got in relationship, I feel secure with my partner and I can share my every feeling to him. I feel independent for my decisions. Therefore as it has been said that secure attachment tend to have more secure romantic relationship, I agreed to this statement after comparison.
