Research Designs DIRECTIONS In each of the following examples: Determine the type of research design used (experiment, quasi-experiment, correlational, archival, meta-analysis, or case study) Identify the independent variables and the dependent variables (for these examples, the only study in which there is not clearly an IV and DV is the case study. Identify the IV and DV for the rest of the scenarios using the information contained in the "lecture" materials to assist you.) Identify any problems with the study and offer some suggestions for improvement (keep in mind that NO study is perfect!) a) b) c)Explanation / Answer
2. The type of research design is Archival as it requires to sift through primary data from the archival data base and form conceptions on the basis of that.
The independent variable would be the job satisfaction and the dependent variable would be the job performance. The effect of the former exercises a change on the latter.
Maybe one thing that the Investigator could improve would be to expand the scope from last decade to last two decades. And could probably add a layer to the IV to better understand the phenomenon of job performance.
