What did you like about the speeches? What could have been improved upon? (Think in terms of whether the speakers sustained eye contact or how they moved throughout the course of the speeches.) Explain your answers.
Explanation / Answer
Martin Luther King did the one thing best that has a way to encapture the attention of the audience and persuade them further by communication, which is the emotional charge of a given speech.
A speech which is emotionally equipped and also backs to reason and passion always has a way to move its masses. Through out the speech he tries to move the masses towards action by showing them what they truly deserve and what the world truly deserves, and what humanity deserves and what they should achieve.
Steve Jobs is very charismatic in the above video, he seems to have control over his words and his body language, which does not let the audience or the speaker himself to deviate or digress. This leads to an impact in the audiences mind. His personal touch kept the audience engaged and a touch of humor kept it light, as it provides audience a sense of relief and gets them back to the speech if and when their minds begin to digress.
In the last video, the hands in the pockets should be avoided as it does not set of a good impression. The eye contact has been maintained which keeps the audience engaged, which is a plus point. Certain body language queues have been repeated, this can be distracting for the audience and should be avoided.
