2. Triangulation refers to the use of multiple methods of collecting and/ or analysing data in qualitative research so as to develop a comprehensive understanding of phenomena . In a typical triangulation procedure, the data may be gathered in several ways such as interviews, observation, the case study method, and the researchers then look for convergence of information from different sources.Thus, it becomes evident that triangulation offers an effective way of deflecting the criticism which is often placed on qualitative research methods for yielding low validity as triangulation is designed with the purpose of increasing the credibility and validity of the results and it allows for cross-checking data from multiple sources to search for consistency in the research findings.
