Explain the person-situation controversy. Evaluate when our behavior is impacted by personality, and, when it is influenced by the situation. Give an example. Which factors lead to more consistency in behavior suggesting personality characteristics exist that endure over time and across situations. Discern situational factors that would predict behavioral change. Are age, identity formation, self-knowledge, or moral development factors? Why or why not? Afterwards, consider which is more important in determining behavior - personality or the environment?

Step 1:Person- situation controversy

it is controversy or debate that which is mostly influence of human behavior situation or personality.we are often observed that people exibit such kind of behavior like happiness, sorrow on the basis of situation but some time reflected behavior on the basis of Personality trait like emotional stablity with unfavourable situation.so psychologist firmly believe that people have personality consistent that influence behavior across the situation

Step 2:people behavior determined by both Personality and situation.people behavior is impacted by Personality when he will deal with the situation through mental stablity and understand the requirement of situation..but when he will be not consistent and arrested by situations then his behaviors is impacted by situation.

For example, a person stimulate other person to show agreesive nature or doing something that tend to aggressive him but he is not actually exbit real behavior and managed the situation which is influence by Personality but if he is becoming aggressive due to intend by someone then he is influenced by situation.

step 3: factor influence to personality and situation of behavior:

There is several factor which is influence the consistencies of personality.

Emotional stablity: if he is emotional stable and matured then more consisteny will show in personality.

Intelligence: Intelligence is great factor which make consistency of Personality over situation through talking good and proper decision.

There is also such factor which influence the situation..

1.convival nature : if person is very Frank and ingenious then there is probablity to influence by situation of his behavior.

2.Lack of critical thinking: .many people does understand how to manipulate the situation and generally grasped by the situation due to lack of critical thinking.

Step 4:there is various situational factor that is helps to predict behavior change like age , identity formation, self-self-knowledge or moral devolopment .

1.if person is properly matures with appropriate age then easily understand that he will reflect aceptble behavior with in situations.

2.similarly if he has developed good self knowledge means to himself very well and having good morality then of course his behavior will be predicted that he shall never be controlled by the situation.

step 5: Personality means allround development of person indesirable manner which is moulded by environment not by genes .so both personality and environment determined the behavior .both are inter related to each other .but consistent of personality is not same for all .some people behavior deeply influenced according to environment.but in most cases personality consistent play major role to determine behavior effectively .
