Our text tells us that the process of studying and describing the specific requirements for a job is called a job analysis (Heneman III, Judge, Kammeyer-Mueller, 2015). Information gathered from a job analysis will be used throughout the staffing process and will help find the right candidate. This is considered the foundation for which successful staffing occurs (Heneman III, Judge, Kammeyer-Mueller, 2015).

Classmates also chose similar reasons. Job analysis is the foundation to staffing and helps provide the framework for expectations, qualifications, and competencies. Also, this will help the HR team to be effective in hiring performance, satisfaction, and retention (Heneman III, Judge, Kammeyer-Mueller, 2015).

3.)    3.) Which reasons help us prepare a more robust analysis?

One type of job analysis is a job requirement which seeks to identify specific tasks, KSAO’s, and job context (Heneman III, Judge, Kammeyer-Mueller, 2015). This technique is objective while the second type is competency based. This type focuses on the job relative to the organizational strategy. Finally, the third technique focuses on rewards for performance. Using a job analysis, we are able to fulfill these techniques to contribute to successful hiring and retention.
