Question
I visited my grandmother in a nursing home yesterday. Ninety-two years old and partiallyparalyzed by a stroke, she now struggles to feed herself and is irreversibly bound to her bed orwheelchair. Once vital and fiercely independent, she is now frail and incapable of even using the bathroom unassisted. Mortified by her dependence on others, her mood ranges from quietacceptance to whining complaint. I do not see evidence of a divine plan in this situation. Maybe there is not a divine plan; or perhaps I am just not wise enough to see it.
The tone of this paragraph can be described as…
Explanation / Answer
The tone of the paragraph is ironic since your grandmother was a strong woman and nobody inlcuding you, could imagine that such an independent woman could also turn frail and weak.It is an irony, because you never expected this condition of hers and then you see her dependent and weak in front of you who cant even go to the bathroom on her own. It has quite distressing tone as well because its heart breaking to see her in such a situation. Its upsetting to know that god sometimes can be unfair to good people.
