Some argue that men in sports are more likely to commit sexual violence than those who are not because there is a culture of sexual dominance over women that is often encouraged in sports, especially violent sports. It is this type of ‘locker room talk’ that schools are attempting to eliminate. Are educational opportunities and programs provided by colleges related to sexual violence prevention enough to create a change their behaviour, or is the culture of men’s dominance over women too pervasive, and too ingrained by the time they reach college athletics?

It is a bare truth that the society in which we live is a male dominaed society, where each and every male member of the society seeks to dominate thier female counterparts. However the nature and type of dominace depends on variety of factors such as cultural practices, customs, social status and so on so forth.As far as the case of sports is concerned, it has been seen and observed that men are more likely to commit sexual violence against women as according to some there is a culture of sexual dominance over women is often encouraged in sports especialy in violent sports.However this practice of sexual dominance of men over women is not perceived as good and healthy behaviour and some of the schools and training institutes are attempting to elliminate this type of practices.Now educational insstitutions and higher education institutions are desiging and preparing programs and policies to change the behavioural patterns through education and awareness.The primary objectives of these types of programmes are to elliminate or prevent sexual dominace of men through education and awareness and to change the behaviour patterns displayed.In my opinion this type of attempts by educational institutes may be sufficient to create a healthy and competitive atmosphere in sports arena.
