Explanation / Answer
The power elite model contends that only a small minority of individuals, consisting of members of the economic elite and policy-planning networks, hold the majority power in the society which is independent of any democratic elections process. On the other hand, the pluralist theory ststes that power is, in fact, distributed among several social groups. These may include the coordinated activity of like-minded people, such as unions, professional associations and lobbyists.
