If you were a psychologist studying the impact of family relationships on success in school in first through third graders, would you use quaantitative or qualitative analysis? Why? I would use qualitative analysis because it gives proper reasons for effects on the child. With qualitative analysis I would be able to find the effects and consequences of family relationship on the child. I would also be able to judge what kind of relationship creates what impact. I would choose sequential study method because it involves more people for a long time. This way, the impact of various types of relationship can be observed in the subject over a period of time and gives a detailed account. A few challenges associated with it are it is time consuming, it requires more subjects from various background, it requires good analytical research and it needs tremendous cooperation from the subjects.
