(Answer) (1) The biopsychosocial model is an amalgam theory that states that an individual’s state of mind is affected by biological factors, psychological factors and social factors.

The biological factors concern genetics, neurological activity and other somatic factors.

The psychological factors generally concern temperament, cognition, mental state etc.

The social factors generally concern the elements of the society like family, friends, work and study environment, social media etc.

For instance, something like an eating disorder would be because of their biological factors like their body type, psychological factors like how they feel about their body and self-image and social factors like what the media or their peers may feel.

(2) Generally, a panel of individuals from a review board is responsible for allotting grants for a study. The study would need to fulfill certain criteria in order to be allowed. The subject of the study should have some utility and add value to human life, the research must be ethical, the methodology and hypothesis must be practical etc.

When a researcher does their work, they generally have a goal of their work being used to further other studies or add to the field they are studying in. Let us assume that a doctor desires recognition and tenure and decides to conduct an inadequate study of vaccinations. This doctor’s improper research of only 12 patients and forged results has lead to a published and popular paper that vaccinations cause autism.

Such a published paper would be devastating to states and nations where the people are easily susceptible which would lead to parents deciding to not vaccinate their children. This decision would result in old ailments like measles, polio and others coming back and an even worse form of drug-resistant ailments. Such a catastrophic situation would actually affect the lives of millions and therefore, ethical research should be a priority. Furthermore, unethical research should lead to revoking of license and being barred from conducting studies again.
