1- You have two final exams scheduled for the same day. Describe how you could use a negative coping strategy to reduce your stress. Then describe how you could use a positive coping method to deal with the same situation 2-Thoroughly explain the difference between emotional and problem- focused coping strategies. Which one do you tend to use more often and why? 3-Of the stress reduction techniques discussed in the chapter which one do you most often use and why? Explanation / Answer

1)As we all know we can have a very high stress level during the time of examination.Examination stress can leads to sleeping dificulties and lack of relaxation. So here i will elaborate my positive and negative strategy for coping witth my Exam stress.

Negative Strategy

Smoking

We all know that smocking is a negative coping mechanism to reduce the stress level. As it can gives an immediate relief from the extreme stress level, i think i will use this negative strategy for coping with the stress of examination. This is a most common negative stress management technique.This is known as a negative Strategy because it is very harmful for the health.

Positive Strategy

Confronting My fear and Meditation

In using a positive strategy for coping with my stress, i will always try to confront my fear. I will study more to get confidence about my own ability. As we all know a good level of confidence helps to reduce the fear. So i will prepare myself more appropiately for getting more confident about my both of the examinations.

Another a way to reduce the stress level is Meditation. I will try to do meditation for my stability of mind. This is a positive strategy to reduce the stress level and helps to achive a healthy and stable mind.

2)Differences between the Problem Focused Coping and Emotional focused Coping

?1) Problem focused coping always targets the practical causes of the stress.The main aim of this coping is reducing the causes of the stress

In other hand Emotional Focused Coping only tries to reduce the effects of the stress such as anxiety,Depression and other mental illnesses.

2) The problem focused coping is an ultimate and permanent solution for reducing the stress level.

In other hand, Emotional Focused coping is a temporary feeling of relief from the stress. As the aim of this coping is only getting relief from the present situation so it does not give a permanent Solution.

3) The problem focused coping is more succesful in dealing with the stress level.

The Emotional focused coping is less succesful rather than problem focused coping.

4) The problem focused coping method is not so effective for each and everyone. As example not all the people are enough capable to control the whole situation.

The emotional focused coping is a easy to afford process.It is very much productive for almost everyone.

5) The problem focused coping is healthy for each and every Individual.

In other hand the Emotional Focused Coping is not a healthy procedure. People who are using this strategy more commonly can affeced by physical and mental Illness.

6) The examples of the problem focused coping are Time-Management , Getting social supports or suggestions etc

The examples of emotional focused Coping are Taking drgus, Suppression, Drinking Alcohol etc.

I alwys try to use the problem focused coping. Because it helps to give a permanent solution for reducing the stress level. So i can be benefitted for using this strategy.

Causes of My use

I want to try another technique which is Emotional Focused Technique. As example Mediation.

Meditation

Meditation is a emtional focused Technique. it is a positive stress management technique also. We can reduce our extreme stress level by just a regular meditation.So i would like to try this technique as my stress management solution.
