Question
It has been mentioned that some people do not take emotional information well, and might feel it necessary to change their message, or the delivery of the message depending on that person. This happens to many of us, as we begin a conversation and read the other person's emotional status a bit better, and we "switch gears" . This is something we do as humans, as we adjust to the situation and persons around us (open.lib, n.d.). This adjustment is due to the circumstance and the person's reaction to the emotions, and according to learning theory -- we then learn how to display these emotions around specific persons or situations. Do you think that men and women are socialized differently in how to react to other's emotions? Do you think we are socialized differently about "reading" the signs? Or is that part of brain function? What does research say?
Explanation / Answer
