Explanation / Answer

a. The main research question of the study was to investigate the impact of corporal punishment on children's behavior problems.

b. The independent variable was corporal punishment and the dependent variable was behavioural problems.

c. Using data from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development Study of Early Child Care and Youth Development, the participants were children ranging between the age of 36 months and 6 years.

d. Corporal punishment (the independent variable) was measured using the Home Observation for the Measurment of the Environment, a tool based on interviewing and observation. On the other hand, behavioural problems (dependent variable) was assessed using the Child Behaviour Checklist.
