Companies and managers may not desire to praise employees due to a fear that it will become something they expect. They may feel that they should not necessarily thanking employees for simply doing their jobs. Effective recognition is consistent but sporadic so that it doesn’t become an entitlement. Companies and managers can consistently give recognition to employees for a variety of reasons, which is what keeps the recognition sporadic. Furthermore, it descreases the chances of displaying biases towards certain employees.
