Explanation / Answer

An example of a sentence where the tone would matter alot is, "I don't want you to go there".

Here, if the emphasis is laid upon the word "I" it would mean that the speaker is being dominant and is restricting the listener from going.

If the stress is laid upon the word "don't", then it would mean that the speaker is being agressive and arrogant.

If the stress is laid upon the word "you", then it would mean that the speaker is being protective about the listener going to a place for some reason.

If the stress is laid upon the word "there", then it would mean that the speaker is asking the listening not to go to a particular place for a specific reason.

Therefore in this way, the tone of speech matters and form meanings of its own while speaking.
