According to our text (chapter 6), scientists have discovered (based on equipment like the fMRI) that "Babies are thinking long before they talk."

Should these findings have an impact on our behavior with regard to our own personal behavior, interactions with others or our interaction with babies?

How would you go about explaining to parents, family members and care givers the importance of these findings?

Can you name a few examples of behaviors that have an impact on the development of babies that caregivers may not automatically recognize?

**Hint: In our text there have been several examples of behaviors on the part of caregivers that can impact child development.**

Explanation / Answer

1) The recent findings that babies are thinking long before they talk will have a great impact on our thought process and behavior, interaction with others and interaction with babies. Therefore, the parents, family members or care givers of babies should be educated to suitably behave properly in front of the babies as this will have a great impact on their character development and behavior when they grow into adults. Few examples that caregivers might not easily recognise are using foul words, speaking lies, manipulating and misrepresenting facts, etc.
