Explanation / Answer

Answer 2:- Fitness activities focus on improved aerobic capacity, greater muscular strength and endurance, increased joint flexibility and improved motor fitness. Calisthenics, weight training, jogging, rope jumping and distance swimming are all fitness development activities.

Total physical fitness includes – 1. Health related fitness (physical fitness) and 2. Skill related fitness (skill development).

Improvement in one area leads to an improvement in other area. Example building up muscular strength and muscular endurance automatically increase power. Flexibilty fitness increases agility and balance. Thus, fitness cannot be overlooked while developing skills for a particular sport.

However, balance between health related fitness and skill development is important. For example to increase muscle strength and power and also increase fitness level, if a tennis player engages only in cardiovascular fitness and weight training, the other skills such as eye0hand coordination, reflexes, agility will not develop and hence excellent physical fitness achieved will be at an expense of skill development.

The dilemma of physical educators whether to focus on health fitness, which is primary requirement to be achieved, at an expense of skill development is valid.

Future of sports will see increasing competition. To sustain for long time in such competition, endurance and physical fitness is important, but to excel in the competition and perform well, skill development for particular sports is equally important. Physical educators therefore, should design fitness and skill development program with priority for the sports. Example a marathon runner will not benefit from eye-hand coordination skill development. He will require cardiovascular training for his goal.

Answer 3:- Sphere of self-expression means how one expresses oneself through physical activity. Three kinds of movements are described
