1) The stratified squamous epithelium present in scalp is of keratinised type while the stratified squamous epithelium in oesophagus is of non-keratinised type.
Keratinised stratified squamous epithelium epithelium performs protective function. Non keratinised stratified squamous epithelium present in oesophagus performs the function of lubrication during swallowing.
