My Answers Give Up Part B-Equilibrium Overview The sense of equlibrium responds to movements of the head. It is divided into two types-static and dynamic equilibrium. Human body's equilibrium is maintained by the balance and alignment of muscles and skeletal system. The human brain recoeves signals from visual system, ears and skeletal systa, and coordinates all these signals to maintain equilibrium of the body.
When a body is in resting stage and the overall effect of forces acting on the body is zero, this state is called static equilibrium. When a body is in movement and the result of all forces acting on the body is zero, the state is called dynamic equilibrium. Static equilibrium is seen in steady-state systems. Dynamic equilibrium can be seen in firces where the forces in opposite directions can be equilibrium, like the force on thw right side is equal to left andd force in the upward direction is equal to downward. In short it can be said that in static equilibrium, the external force and torque at a fixed position are zero and in a dynamic equilibrium, the external forces and tirque are zero at fixed velocity. Examples of bodies in static equilibrium can be al stationary bodies like books on table, peraon lying in fixed position and dynamic equilibrium can be two chemical reactions proceeding at opposite speed, maintaining salts and water balance, and fluid balance in human body.
The inner ear contains receptor that heelps maintain stability and posture of head during rest. Furst statement is true.
Semicircular canals attached to vestibule gives information about semicircular movements of our head, which is the sense of dynamic equilibrium; the given statement is true.
The third statement is yes because the head's movement mY be in the direction of gravitational force. So it can be considered as static equilibrium.
The figure skater spins can be considered as an example of dynamic equilibrium.
The statement that static equilibrium monitors head when body is moving is false, this condition is controlled by dynamic equilibrium.
Dynamic equilibrium monitors head position when body is not moving is false, its done by static equilibrium actually.
The statement a person who is asleep is an example of static equilibrium is true beacause there is no external force actinng and the velocity is zero.
The last statement is false beacause we already read in above statement that shaking head is an example of static equilibrium equilibrium.
