1. Central nervous system ( CNS ): consists of brain and spinal cord. It carries motor , sensory and higher functions.
2. Respiratory system: consists of trachea, bronchioles and lungs. It is for for gaseous exchange and oxygenation of blood.
3. Cardio vascular system: It consists of heart , aorta, pulmonary artery and other vessels. It helps in pumping blood to various organs and maintains adequate tissue perfusion.
4. Gastrointestinal system: consists of oesophagus, stomach and intestines . Breaks the food and absorbs the nutrients from it.
5. Genitourinary system: Consists of ureters, kidneys, epididymis, seminiferous tubules and testes. Removes waste products and involved in expulsion of semen.
6. Locomotive system: consists of skeleton . Helps in protection of internal organs, bears the weight of our body and helps in locomotion.
7. Visual system: consists of eyes . Visual inputs are carried to cortex via thalamus.
8. Olfactory system: consists of free nerve ending receptors. Sensory information is carried to cortex.
9. Auditory system: consists of external and internal ear. It's function is to appreciate sound.
10. Peripheral nervous system: Consists of both sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system.
11. Capillaries: also considered to be a separate organ system. It's main function is gaseous and nutrient exchange .
