2) Neuropathic pain is caused by diseases affecting somatosensory nervous system. Capsaicin cream at first cause burning sensation and with repeated application reduces pain. Capsaicin causes release of substance P, the mediator of pain and with repeated application substance P stores get depleted and therefore there is reduction in pain.
