Answer: The business ethics is one of the most debated issues in the business world. The companies are increasingly becoming aware about the ethical concerns related issues inside their structures. It is important to understand that what is meant by business ethics and what types of ethical concerns are present in the business world. I worked as a part time employee at a restaurant and was in the service staff. There was a manager who managed us and was also responsible for making purchases for the restaurant. He often used to take me for assistance while going for the purchases. One day I realised that my manager was cheating the company and presenting wrongs bills for the purchases. He used to purchase for less and presented the bills for more. Apart from this he also used the official property for his personal use and used to carry the official handset to his home after the restaurant got closed. Both these behaviours were strictly prohibited by the owner and he gave clear instructions that none of us should indulge in misusing the official property which was strictly meant for the official purposes. This situation indicates that business ethics is related with following the instructions of the employers and also not indulging in the unethical behaviours like cheating or making a fraud. The ethical concerns arise in the companies because of the conflict of interest and lack of moral values in the employees. The ethical issues in the organizations are not only related with the instances of cheating but it also involves issues related with abusive behaviour and discriminatory practises.
