From anterior to lateral position Lateral rotation is taking place. However since the whole leg is straight and a little high above ground, asmall degree of hip flexion is also there.

From lateral to anterior position medial rotation at right hip joint is taking place. However small degree of persistent hip flexion is present.

Hip joint is a synovial joint of ball and socket type.

Bones that form hip joints are 1. Femoral head

2. Pelvis(Acetabular part)
