It can be a cause of death and disability specially in children and adults. Injury ranges from mild, moderate to severe. The neurological cells that are present in large numbers during traumatic brain injury are all brain cells including neurons, blood vessel cells, glial cells such as astrocytes, microglia and oligodendrocytes and the cells which produce and recycle cerebrospinal fluid.
