Explanation / Answer
Ans. Traumatic brain injury occurs when an external force injures the brain. The causes for it include falls, vehicle collisions and violence. It is also known as intracranial injury. It can be a cause of death and disability specially in children and adults. Injury ranges from mild, moderate to severe. The neurological cells that are present in large numbers during traumatic brain injury are all brain cells including neurons, blood vessel cells, glial cells such as astrocytes, microglia and oligodendrocytes and the cells which produce and recycle cerebrospinal fluid.
