They followed 200 women over the course of 12 months. The women were placed on a low-fat diet and were divided into groups. Each group had a different exerdise plan. At the end of 6 months, most of the women had considerable weight loss and improved cardiorespiratory fitness, but the differences in the amount of weight lost between the various exercise groups were not significant. Explanation / Answer

1. 4 (four)

a. Vigorous intensity/ High duration

B. Moderate intensity/High duration

c. Moderate intensity/ Moderate duration

d. Vigorous intensity/ Moderate duration

2. Excercise intensity & Duration

3. Participation

The study suggests that diet along with regular Excercise has a long term impact on the weight loss where as there is no evidence that the intensity of the exercise alone results in weight loss. The combination of regular exercise coupled with reduced intake of fat filled food will end up in a better result in weight loss programmes. There should also be regular intervention to check the progress and keep the person in the programme.
