Explanation / Answer

12. Lighting is critical to creating the picture affecting emotions, mood, color, depth of the scene, relations between characters and space. The light gives the clear difference between the stark scenes and brighter ones. Lighting is an integral part of theatrical performance. Not just so you can see what is happening on stage; light and colour also change the mood of the scene and the emotions of the audience. Higher levels of lighting generally produce cheerful effects and stimulate people to alertness and activity, whereas lower levels tend to create an atmosphere of relaxation, intimacy, and restfulness.

The light gives the clear difference between the stark scenes and brighter ones. It brings a different element to the stage as the scenes move on.
