Brain is organ of the central nervous system which includes all higher nervous centers. Brain controls most of the activities by processing, integrating, and coordinating the information from sense organs. Cerebrum is the largest part of brain, which is further divided into 6 lobes such as frontal lobe, parietal lobe, occipital lobe, temporal lobe, limbic lobe, and insular cortex. Different functions are associated with these different lobes. Let us consider functions associated with lobes:

1. Frontal lobe controls voluntary movements of specific body parts. Higher executive functions like emotional regulation, planning, reasoning occur at frontal lobe.

2. Parietal lobe is responsible for language processing. Also, parietal lobe is receptive area for processing sense of touch, pressure, pain.

3. Occipital lobe is located at brain of the brain and it has visual processing function. Occipital lobe is responsible for visual stimuli and information.

4. Temporal lobe is location of primary auditory cortex, which is responsible for interpreting auditory stimuli like sounds and language heard.

5. Limbic lobe contains parts of frontal, parietal, and temporal lobes. This lobe has mixed functions like perception, emotional behavior, etc.

6. Insular cortex is believed to be associated with consciousness, processing emotions, and regulation of bodily homeostasis. This has functions like motor control, processing interpersonal experiences, self awareness, etc.

The important functions like perception, sensory processing, homeostasis, motor function balance are distributed among the lobes and some functions are shared among the lobes. If the important function like motor control concentrated in only one part of the brain, then there might be risk of fragility of functional capability in case of any injury to the particular part of the brain. As we have functions distributed to other parts also, we still can maintain level of functioning ability even with damage to other part. In other words, if the part of the brain which has particular concentration for particular function gets injured or damaged due to any accident, then there will risk of losing functioning ability, hence making particular function fragile.
