What is "public purpose"?
Public purpose can be defined as an action or direction, that is taken up by the government so that the entire population can be benefited. Examples of a private purpose that turned out to be public is women’s rights movement.

The women’s rights movement started in the 1848 due to a Tea conversation. Elizabeth Cady along with the other 4 women, started their conversation, in which they began to discuss on the situation of women and how even after 70 years of freedom, and this small group of discussion turned into a large scale project. Within two days of their conversation, and participated in a convention- the Seneca Falls convention, for the discussion of the rights of woman. The women’s rights movement ended in the year 1920, this led to the formation of the national American woman suffrage Association, and along with the introduction of the 19th amendment, women gained the right to vote in the constitution.
