Question

Raise three critical questions that in some way analyze or challenge aspects of each persons position.

The Turing test was created by Alan Turing to test a machine’s artificial intelligence to see if it can display decision making or judgement like that of a human. This test dated back to 1950 when the computers were not nearly as advanced as they are today. The computers did not succeed in being able to interact with humans. Even with all of the technological advancements that have happened in the past sixty plus years, the test isn’t sufficient enough to measure whether or not a machine is genuinely intelligent. A lot of what we do to help understand subjects as humans is having the ability to hear and feel things. In psychology, it is shown we have multiple intelligences and have different ways of learning. When I read that the computers were behind a keyboard getting their intelligence assessed, I knew there could be another way to analyze the intelligence. Even though there isn’t any other way right now, there will be in the future. If computers were actually able to feel emotion and go through human experiences, I would be in favor of this being a valid way to test intelligence.

Explanation / Answer

As this paragraph describes Computer can not feel the human being. But in what way can we make technological advancements to make computer understand the human nature, to understand the human face, non verbal cues etc?

Even if computer has a memory of 1000 things, would it properly understand as in what is going in person's mind? taking into consideration that man is mostly addicted to computer hence even he would not be sure of his conscious feelings.

If computer completely takes over a human psychological counselling then would we ever need psychological counsellors or just machine made counsellors.. What would drawback of machine counselling?
