There are basically four main types of groups :

1. Formal groups :

These groups are created to carry out specific task or work.

2. Informal group :

These groups do not have any specific purpose. They are created just for casual interactions.

3. Primary group :

Its a small group of people that regularly interact with each other having the same culture , tradition and beliefs.

4. Secondary group :

Its a large group of people , where the individuals hardly know each other and socially interact.
