Explanation / Answer

1a. Demonstrates competency in any movement forms and proficient in few - this would mean that the individual is able to skill fully perform many movements, but is shows excellence or mastery in certain movement forms. For example, if one considers a ballet dance who have received training for 12 years. After so much training, she would be able to exhibit a performance in other dance forms as well such as contemporary, salsa etc because she has been able to gain control of her body movements. However, if one would look at her area of expertise, it would remain ballet.

1b. Learning is a continuous process which builds up on past knowledge and experiences. Learning a dance form is a long term activity but what is learned is not consciously understood. Using the example above, a ballet dancer learns how to spin her body on one leg during her ballet training period - lets assume it took her 2 months to perfect it. Now, she has to perform a contemporary number where she has to do a similar (but not the same) movement. Since her body movements have already been trained in this way, it would take her a much lesser time to pick up this step.

1c. People who demonstrate personal and social behaviour in physical activity settings are usually the ones who are actively involved in such a field as professionals. For instance, a choreographer, apart from making her daily bread and butter from teaching dance, is also improving her own movement skills over time by repetition and practice. Additionally, she has to train and develop new dancers on a regular basis which involves a fair amount of social interaction.
