Explanation / Answer

1. The answer is Option B because this implies Socrates paradox which is based on the phrase "I know that I know nothing." This phrase is an indication of wisdom as there is no one in the world who can know possibly know everything; thus a wise one would accept this and be aware of the things that he/she does not know.

2. The answer is Option E. Because, the Socratic method relies on finding exceptions to claims that people make. After every claim is made, an exception is identified. The speaker is then asked to make another claim and the process is repeated till and a claim is made that can be considered correct. Thus it involves cooperative dialogue and discussion, none of which are mentioned in the options.

3. The answer is Option C. Rationalism is an epistemological stance that regards reason as a source and test of knowledge. Although Socrates did take a rationalist stance, rationalism covers a much larger area, over and above his teachings. Also, Option B talks about empiricism.

4. The answer is Option B. Empiricism is an epistemological stance as well, however, it states that knowledge comes only or primarily from sensory experience. Option A, as mentioned earlier, is incorrect and Option C describes rationalism.
