In the weeks that follow being pulled from the track team, Sally listens to her coach’s direction and works hard to qualify for the next meet. Running her fastest time ever, Sally is excited when she qualifies to run the relay for the third track meet. Now that she has earned her spot on the team, she continues to work hard every week to keep her place.

Sally was pulled for her poor performance on the track,as a result of this punishment she concentrated more on her performance and followed each and every directions of her coach.She worked hard on the track and attained her goal by getting selected and keeps working hard to keep up her position.This is prevention of loss of a reinforcement.Here Sally wants to be qualified for the track meet ,she doesn't wants to loss it as previously.So inorder to prevent the chance of getting disqualified she works hard, concentrates and takes each and every direction of the coach seriously.She puts her every effort to prevent the repetition of disqualification and works hard to keep it up once got qualified.According to Mallot and Shane avoidance of loss reinforcement is"a response becomes more frequent in the future if it has prevented the loss of a reinforcer in the past"(p.253)
