Select a TV show, or short story, or novel or film/movie to do a character analysis and relationship study. Now you will incorporate some of that information in a 5-7 page paper. Some of the paper will respond to the typical who, what, when, where and why of the relationship. A summary of the story will be pertinent also. Then…applying relevant information from some TED talks, is just as important here as are your analytical thoughts, opinions and ideas. Your chief goals are to study a dual character relationship.

Character study of FRIENDS

Friends is a TV show that has been showing to feature a group of six friends who are highly dependent on each other. In the TV series, the characters- Rachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe and Joey have been shown to exist as a group, with the TV series engulfing people in their life story for 10 years. Rachel, was shown to be a spoilt fashionista, who ran away from her marriage and has been shown to be engaged in a relationship with Monica's brother Ross, in an on and off way. Monica has been shown to have a dominant personality being compulsive and a perfectionist. Ross has been shown to be highly troubled with his marriage life and seems to be depressed with three divorces. Phoebe has been shown to be weird and coming up from a rough life, happy within herself. Joey has been shown to be extremely slow. Chandler has been shown to be troubled with his mother and father and hides his discomft in a sarcastic humour. He tends to be more sarcastic, as he gets more troubled.

From the psychological perspective, Monica and Ross have been siblings, with Monica being troubled with parental indifference. The parents have always praised and been biased towards Ross, which has driven Monica to achieve perfection in order to prove her mother wrong. This drive has led her to achieve compulsivity and drives her crazy when she cannot achieve her desired goals. She has this compulsion of making people happy, and cannot resist the temptation to do so. She does not appreciate change and is not open to new ideas or doesn't trust people with any responsibilities. And she has married chandler bing who is highly neurotic using humor as a mechanism of defence. He is avert to thanksgiving as that was the day of his parents' divorce and is Ashemed by his erotic mother who makes out with Ross. He has anxiety issues and has low self esteem with bad to poor skills of being able to cope up with situations. He is highly dependent on Monica for love and fins security in her.

These group of friends are highly dependent, avert to any outside suggestions and not open to anyone sho would show them the reality of their relations.
