Explanation / Answer
Bruegel depended upon himself ideationally by developing new ways to interpret ancient myths the message conveyed by him was more subtle in a fashion which was less didactic i.e. patronizing religion. His paintings became the inspiration for the later artists to come. Landscape With The Fall Of Icarus subverted the very genre of landscape painting as a whole. It changed the subject from Icarus which the viewer expects to patterns of human interaction, and the loneliness such events usually engender. Bruegel’s primary strength was his defining the artistic modernism at a time when few were aware of it. While the poem Landscape With The Fall Of Icarus by William Carlos is a mere summary as for example the first stanza which is a mere recap of the painting’s inner season using shallow language, followed even more recapitulation. According to me Brueghel's painting creates a more powerful emotional response in the viewer as it is more subtle and original and a trendsetter.
