One argument for the development of gender roles involves differential treatment by parents and others during the first years of life. Observe the manner in which individuals interact with infants/toddlers in their family and document ways in which girls and boys are differentially treated. What messages are being given to these infants/toddlers about how they should behave given their gender? You can also reflect on the way you were treated by your parents and other adults as you were growing up. What messages did you get about how you should act based on your gender? Explanation / Answer

As per my knowledge, still many people are into such believes that they need a baby boy rather than a girl. Its always good to have a boy baby,so that they have less complexions. There is no need to spend much money on a boy for his education,marriage etc. But,they think its a burden to have a girl child. They think its difficult to take care of her, educating and getting her married is also a major problem. As I feel ,its really a misconception. Both the childs are equal in this society.

Some circumstances which were noticed when a girl child is born was: The baby's paternal family will not wish to go and see her. They pin point towards the mother for giving birth to a girl baby. They force that women to give birth to more babies until a baby boy is born. The girl baby is treated like a slave in many cases. Some of the poor people they actually sell their doughters for money to others,when they are not capable of taking care of her. Few of the babies were seen on road and near garbages which were thrown by their parents due to the pressure in thier families or because they do not need it.

When it comes to my family,my parents have 2 daughters. They never treat us like we are girls but make us to grow in the way we are not less than the boys. We both are educated and have the Masters. We feel really proud of our parents.

Not of the two genders are less or more. They both are relly equal. Please bring the awareness among the people. Educate them first. The girls are the toppers in most of the exams and they are working as a cleaner to an astronaut,scientists,ministers etc. They are prooving themselves that they are not less than anyone in the society.

As a girl,they should be bold enough to get a change in the society. Stand for their rights. Make their parents feel proud of them.
