Taking Wal-Mart as an example the mission statement of Wal-Mart is “Saving people money so they can live better. Wal-Mart’s vision statement: “To be the best retailer in the hearts and minds of consumers and employees.”Since Wal-Mart is a large organization having many stores. The manager in each store translates the general human resource plan from the corporate HR department. Thus, different stores have different interpretations of the corporate human resource plan. Thus the actual human resource planning occurs at different levels of the organization. The majority of the work force at Wal-Mart is unhappy leading to a high employee turnover rate of 70. Since Wal-Mart claims to be the best retailer in the hearts and minds of both consumers and employees it should change its HR policies and do job analysis of each and every job take exit and entry opinion of its employees and change its policies for good to retain its employees so that experienced employees can work better in fewer hours than the inexperienced ones coming and going.
