Emile DurkheimExplanation / Answer
1. Answer: A) Emile Durkheim
Emile Durkheim has researched various countries and suicide rates. This was done in the year 1869, where, the rate from all the countries had been identified. His aim was identification of the rate of suicide in every country, and not the personalities that commit suicides. Durkheim found that though suicide was an act which was of a solitary form, there were a number of social factors which lead to suicide. Also, these social factors affected the rate at which suicide would be committed. He identified the cohesiveness in a society, the influence of the person in the society and their involvement in various groups.
