(Answer) Prenatal development is a causative relationship. In other words, there is a direct relationship between cause and effect. Here, the mother will consume healthy food (cause) which, will result in an optimal prenatal development (effect). Correlation, on the other hand, would only prove a relation between the two variables and not necessarily a causal relationship.
Here the independent variable is the mother. The dependent variable is the prenatal development.
