Analytical thinking enables us to understand the parts of the situation by breaking things down into their components. On the other hand, synthetical thinking enables us to understand how they work together and find the patterns across those component parts. To me, it appears that analytical thinking is more of a top-down and intuitive approach as it starts with the big picture and then breaks down from there into smaller segments. On the other hand, synthetic thinking appears to be a bottom up approach and sensory as it involves processing information as it is coming in and progressing from the individual elements to the whole.
