Firstly,this basic plot of the ill-treated one finally becoming the hero was the most loved and common all cultures.

Secondly, everyone loves to see the mistreated getting justice.

Thirdly, it quite much relates to the thought that a nice girl can enter a happy mariage only with some magical assistance.

Fourthly, it potrays the submissiveness and ductility shown by Cinderella towards rudeness and harshness which is how many cultures train women to be.

The popularity of these stories show the condtioning of a human mind. The breezy wish fullfillment romance and magic give gives the readers a great pleasure. This story fantasizes the easy way out and that's what everyone loves.

The Donkey story considerable differs from the Cinderella story. It did have romance, and wish fullfillement in common but was definitely not the easy way out for the princess.
