Juan Cortina was a politician in Mexico who was known for his great Robin Hood abilities and to help the downtrodden masses.
Joaquin Murrieta was also known as the Robin Hood of his times., and he was a gold miner instead, and he was from the west and El Dorado. He was the one to help the weaker sections of the society and the downtrodden as well.
They reflected the values of a hero for the dispositined sections of the society in ways of helping them with respect to their monetary disadvantages.
These values are reflected in his corrido, wherein he speaks about all the atrocities that have been inflicted upon his people and his brothers and families by the American, and how he has come to avenge and take back what is rightfully his and his peoples.
