Specifically, how was the philosophers' method of trying to understand the world around them different? Your answer should be at least two full paragraphs (about five sentences each).

Explanation / Answer

Early Philosophers View of the world is definitely quite different from the view of Homer and the philosophical theory is interesting from both sides. The early philosophers view starts from ancient Greece and we cannot even begin to emerge into kind of consensus in drawing the relationship between them. One of the first or early Philosophers to compile an intellectual history and view was Hippias. He got famous from the portrayal of Hippias Major and Minor written by Plato. The work of Hippias was followed by Socrates and his portrayal on Hippias but generally he was sort of ambitious and intellectual in his approach. Socrates, Plato and Aristotle were sort of first of the early philosophers.

Plato was not exactly an historian but there is some history of philosophy. In the dialogue by the Theaetetus, it brings Parmenides and sympathetic Eleatic thinkers on one side. It denies the reality of natural change which is against the long tradition of theorists of nature and according to Theaetetus, the change is the essence of nature. It was Socrates who said that the tradition began with Homer. The Iliad and the Odyssey was written by Greek poet Homer and this had an enormous impact on the western culture. He contributed to the philosophy through a fixed model of heroism, nobility and had a large impact on the expression of human life.

Articulation of the Distinction in the Expression

The versions of philosophy given by Homer and other poets are something that occurred long ago. The laws of Homer are different and little different as per the philosophical theories. It is because the theories describe everything through changes that no longer exist. There are number of myths that are spoken and expressed by Homer. One of the philosophical statement was “All was water” and clearly it does not exist as matter of fact. The principles originated but they gradually changed with time.

The distinction is not very sustainable and some are even difficult to classify. With every philosophical metaphysics, there is a truth but there is a lot of difference between perspectives. The difference between early philosophical views and Homer are not very clear formulations to ponder upon. The philosophies of Plato and Aristotle have distinguished philosophy as compared to homer. There are simple formulation that you need to consider to understand the philosophies.
