1a).On a daily basis our body needs eight 8-ounce glasses of water which is almost 3 quarts. The kidneys regulate water by saving water when dehydration occurs and filtering out urine. We lose water through our skin by sweating. As water leaves our body through multiple ways it eventually is removed from blood plasma. This causes the blood to become more concentrated and then the physiological sensory receptors in the hypothalamus are triggered. This allows the dehydrated person to release antidiuretic hormone (ADH) through the posterior pituitary gland. The ADH allows the kidneys to function properly by diluting the blood plasma and recuperate water from the urine. Our body conserves water via the nervous system to the salivary glands in the mouth.

More than sixty percent of a human body is water. When people need water, they feel thirsty. Refer to the related lectures and other resources to answer the followed questions with cited reference in details 1a. Where and how the thirst signals are generated (why people feel thirsty? 5 points) 1b. where and how the thirst signals are detected (how people sense thirsty? 4 points) 1c. where and how the thirst signals are processed (how people know thirsty? 5 points) 1d. what's the outcomes of thirst signal processing (what people do after feeling thirsty? 6 points)

Explanation / Answer

1a Answer-

The main body part involve in thirst signalling is mouth. Whenever the mucus membrane of mouth gets dry it will send a signal to our thirst center. It means for thirst the membrane of mouth most be dry. I am going to write for point those are involving in this conditions and responsible for dryness of mouth.

a- use of anticholinergics ( means those drugs decreasing the secretion of sliva and other body secretions.

b- Smoking also cause dryness of mouth.

c- summer ( increase swatting cause loss of water)

d- dehydration, salty and bitter taste food.

Q1b- Answer-

a- Due to dryness we try to wet the mucus membrane but there are no sufficient amouth of sliva.

b- mucus membrane of mouth send signals to the thirst center anterior hypothalamus.

c- More signals make brain concious about the signal.

d- This sensation to be continew untill we are not making our mouth wet

1 C Answer-

a- The cells of mucus membranes have some hairs like structures

b- Those stuctures involving in to identify the changes in near environment.

c- They cause stimulations of thirst nerve by identifying the near environment conditions.

d- It can be stop by any other wetting materials for short time.

e- and this signals stimulats the brain about thirst.

1 d- Answer-

a- People try to wet the mucus membrane.

b- wetting helps in stoping the generation of signals.

c- People try to get water.

d- If water is not awailble they try to use any other drinking liquid.

e- People also can use some candy or other materials to increase the slivary secretions.
