Define functional versus dysfunctional conflict in a work group and explain how you can increase functional conflict and decrease dysfunctional conflict.

conflict occurs when the parties involved in an action carries different openions, and percieve an incompatibility. The parties raise issues to proceedings with one another, and the work can not progress in this conditions. these confilicts are divided as functional and disfunctional conflicts.

Functional conflicts are good to the organiztaions, where all the people dicuss a topic in detail, merits and demerits, problems with implemention and execution, rights and obligations of stakeholders etc. functional conflicts helps the people in follwing ways:

Disfunctional conflict leads to spreads negative aspects in the organiztion. It creats problems in the team and group, and fight each other with different reasons which are unproductive in nature. it will be an overburden to the organization and creates more problems. it causes to wastage of resources of the organization, people put self goals first and organiazational goals next.

Hence, functional confilict is good, which promote democratic views among the people. But disfunctional conflict is not acceptable and firms do not encourages these.
