Marie curie died of aplastic anaemia, which is caused by excessive exposure to radiation, Aplastic anaemia is a hematologic condition characterized by reduced levels of all types of blood cells (including the WBCs). So, the haematocrit value decreases due to the abnormally low RBC levels. The symptoms of Marie Curie are due to the deficiency of RBC (paleness, fatigue, and rapid heart rate), WBC (easy bruising, prolonged bleeding from cuts).

As her blood group is A negative, she can receive blood from A negative and O negative individuals. Because the transfusion with other blood groups causes agglutination reaction.
