1. The CNS includes the brain and the spinal cord whereas the PNS includes all other nervous system tissue. The PNS includes sensory receptors, sensory neurons and motor neurons.
The function of the CNS is to integrate signals from the body into organized flow, and controls motor reponses to changes. The function of the PNS is to transmit the information gathered by the body's sensory receptors to the CNS.
2. The astrocytes appear as star shaped cells. The astrocytic processes form foot plates against a blood vessel that help in creating a blood brain barrier that prevents certain materials from passing out of the blood and into the nerve cells.
3. Synaptic terminals contain neurotransmitter molecules.
4. CNS contains the following cells: ependymal cells, astrocyte cells, oligodendrocyte cells and microglial cells.
PNS conatins the following cells: Satellite cells, schwann cells
