There are several diseases associated with this system, which include diabetes, Graves, Addison’s, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, Cushing syndrome, gigantism, menopause and others. For this discussion, you will be composing medical terms related to one of these diseases.

Cushing disease result from prolonged exposure to excess of glucocortisoids .It refers to clinical manifestation induced by chronic exposure to excess of glucocortisoids.Endogeous cortisol in man leads to 3 pathological conditions,the most frequent is cushing disease. Neurosurgeon Harvey cushing described excessive production of cortisol by adrenal gland. It's 3 times more common in women than men.

In cushing disease adenocorticotrophic hormone ACTH is overproduced by a pituitary corticotroph adenoma.ACTH is rarely produced in an ECTOPIC manner by a non pituitary tutor,.finally cortisol can be over secreted by one of the adrenals that have become tumor. The most common cause other then this is the use of corticosteroid medications such as prednisone.
