(a) Knowledge management refers to the act of creating the knowledge in the organization and then sharing and managing it within the organizational culture. If in an organization, knowledge is shared and managed properly then it can promote organizational learning in number of ways:
(b) There are number of knowledge management systems which can be used by the organization. The type of system that can be applied depends upon the type of problem being faced. If the organizations are of structured nature then organizations should use a codification system and used codes in order to manage the knowledge. And if organizations are of unstructured nature then personalized approach should be used. It means knowledge should be personalized as per the requirements of the organization.
2. Skunk works basically refers to the group of technical employees who work as a team within the organization with an objective to work on a project in a confidential manner. The main use of skunk works is to launch the product or service to be offered by the organization, that can later be used in order to develop the products as per the requirements of the business.
Number of companies uses skunk works in different manner. At IBM the project related to skunk costs was started, which helped the company in meeting its needs and launch IBM personal computers.
